Position begins in August 2023
Schedule: August 2023 – May 2024 | Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM + 2 planning hours/week.
Teach age-appropriate music and movement concepts to preschoolers between the ages of 12 months and 5 years of age.
Develop lessons that meet children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs.
Incorporate interactive Bible and Preschool music and movement.
Maintain a positive, nurturing and loving environment.
Appropriately manage behavior and safety with children, recommending or initiating measures to improve or modify as needed.
Lead, organize and direct children through routine activity.
Plan and lead Christmas Nativity Program on last morning of fall semester during school day. (Christmas Nativity Program involves all age groups 12 months through 5 years. It has generally included a narrator, songs for all students and some for PK-3 and PK-4 classes, speaking parts for some PK-4 students, costumes provided by school).
Plan and lead music for PK-4 Graduation which is on a Tuesday evening toward the beginning of May. Generally PK-4 students sing 3 songs during the graduation ceremony.
Perform housekeeping duties in classroom, such as cleaning and sanitizing toys, tables, chairs and other surfaces.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
As a religious organization, all employees must affirm and adhere to the Church’s Doctrinal Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Human Sexuality based upon its sincerely held religious beliefs, to qualify for employment. This is necessary to accomplish the Church’s religious mission, goals, and purpose.
Exhibit a growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and as Lord, and agree with the doctrinal statement of Northwest Bible Church.
Have a joyful passion for and genuine interest in working with children.
High level of teaching skills and patience, including excellent communication skills, written and verbal, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work with other teachers on the team.
Ability to be flexible.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance and to perform physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, standing, lifting, carrying and moving quickly.
