St. Luke’s United Methodist Church is one of the largest and most respected United Methodist churches in Houston. Founded in the 1940’s, St. Luke’s is situated in a well-established section of the city, an area known for its tree-lined streets, world-class restaurants, and boutique shopping. Its membership includes many key business and civic leaders. It is a regional church, drawing from areas beyond its neighborhood, reaching across the western corridors of the city.

With an average weekly attendance of more than 2,000, St. Luke’s is a well-regarded church in the Houston area and enjoys a national reputation within the United Methodist denomination. St. Luke’s is an active part of the Texas Annual United Methodist Conference of churches. In 2008, Gethsemane United Methodist Church merged with St. Luke’s and became the Gethsemane campus. They are located about five miles west of St. Luke’s core campus and serve a highly diverse area of the city.
